Announcing the New Quire Website
We are thrilled to announce that the new Quire website is now live at https://quire.getty.edu/.
In addition to the documentation, the new website includes an about section with information about Quire, its history, and forthcoming features; a community section with a publication showcase and details on how to contribute to Quire and its community; and a learn section with additional tools and resources.
And best of all, the website was built using Quire!
The new site is still under development and will continue to be updated, both in appearance and content, over the new few months as we prepare to launch Quire as a fully open-source publishing tool by spring 2022.
Please help us make the website the best possible resource for our community. We would love to hear your feedback and invite your to share your thoughts on our forum.

IIIF is Now Available for Quire
After first announcing deep-zooming capability with IIIF in our January newsletter, we are pleased to report that this feature is now available to use. We have updated the documentation to include information on zooming images with IIIF. And, for a much deeper dive into IIIF and its implementation beyond Quire, we recommend reading Getty Common Image Service: Research & Design Report.
This past March, Getty published French Rococo Ébénisterie in the J. Paul Getty Museum, the first Quire publication to include images processed with IIIF.
In other IIIF news, the Quire team (Greg Albers, Matthew Hrudka, Erin Cecele Dunigan, and Hannah Balenda) will present at this year's IIIF Annual Conference on June 23. The conference is free to attend. More information can be found on the IIIF website.

Digital Catalogues Study
Four museums from the Museum Publishing Digital Interest Group commissioned Digital Catalogues Study: A cross-institutional user study of online museum catalogues in 2019. The study’s goal was to better understand the digital publishing landscape for museums, as well as gain insight into the reader's experience and needs. This publication demonstrates Quire's strength as a tool for publishing reports. It is a straightforward application of Quire with minor customizations.
Getty Marrow Internship Program Impact Report
This 2020 report assesses the impact of nearly 30 years of the Getty Marrow Undergraduate internship program, a program dedicated to diversifying the staff of museums and visual arts organizations in Los Angeles. The publication was designed by Picnic Design. Unlike the Digital Catalogues Study, this report has several customized visual elements, including fonts, graphics, and layout, to match Getty’s brand identity.
